Watercress is widely used in salads, sandwiches and as a culinary spice adding a delicious taste in soups, stews and stir fries.
We offer Watercress in three forms - Baby, Young and Regular. Our Baby Watercress is delicate (almost sprouts), the Young Watercress slightly larger (leaves and stems) but still delicate while the Regular has full structure that holds up to cooking (soups, etc.) but still very good raw (typically chopped).
Raw watercress tastes bright and fresh with a somewhat peppery flavor, reminiscent of related vegetables like mustard greens and wasabi Once cooked, it has a less peppery taste leaving a distinctive vegetable flavor. The entire plant is edible.
Watercress is the rock start of the vegetable world packing a powerful nutritional punch…
…it’s ranked number one on the US Centers for Disease Control’s Powerhouse Fruits and Vegetables list topping the list with a perfect score of 100! Searching the internet for “Watercress Nutrition” will show many references on its benefits.
